Just returned from Marsa Alam Egypt after a week of shooting with my brand new setup. I got the Nikon D200 with the 12-24mm and the 105mm VR macro. I got the DX-D200 Sea & Sea housing and 2 YS110 flash units.
I found the 105 so easy to use. Before I left home i found some general settings somewhere in the forum and then I just took it from there. Didn't get to experiment so much with the settings as I would have liked to because suddenly I was able to get close to and take pictures of fish that were otherwise impossible with the old Olympus 8080 because of the shutterlag.
The 12-24mm was behind a optical domeport and a bit more of a challenge. It was quite hard to get the lighting right even though I have the TTL converter, but I did get a few keepers. But in the end it was the 105mm that was used the most. Imagine shooting a clownfish and not having to guess when it was in the middle of the picture ![]()
All in all a great trip with a camera setup that will give me much pleasure in the years to come.
Here are some pictures from the trip. Most of them with the 105mm and then 2 from above water. The first of the land shots showing the difrence in culture pretty good.
Tell me what you think and have a look at the homepage for more from this trip www.kbuw.dk
