C-5050 WAL choices

  1. Hello everyone, glad to be a new member.

So I have been the happy owner of a c-5050 with an olympus housing for a few years now. When the housing started to give out I tried changing out the o-rings, bent a shaft, and am now the proud new owner of an Ikelite housing from ebay. I know this setup is getting old, but I'm a freediver who likes to work with ambient light so what other options would I have? It seems like olympus has a lot of replacement parts still around from the recall too.

I want to get a wide-angle lens for this sucker, and it seems like the INON UWL-100 is a good option. I haven't been able to find any info on the Ikelite W-20 but I'm interested in that as well. I'd love to do above/below shots but mostly this will be for getting close to fish for detail without losing the area around them. An issue for me is that I'd like to get something that will be usable beyond this housing/camera combo. Can I expect to get some use out of the UWL-100 further down the line when I get another point&shoot type camera?

  2. Hello

you said you were looking at the uwl100, does this mean the ikelite housing you have uses the 67mm thread?

if so you can get the uwl100 and add the dome attachment for really wide shots , that may work well for under over shooting , and wide fish shots .

im using the uwl 100 dome combo on a recently released coolpix p5000 in a ike housing so the lense is still in use on current cameras. i find he inon lense is sharp and nice to use . .

i purchaced my lense through yuzo at uwdigitalcamera.com his prices were very good .

would like to see some of you shots once you get it all together

    regards
