It finally happened.....

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post this link to an announcement I'd like to make. Its been a year in planning and now finally things have been consolidated.

Quite what this means at the moment for my ambitions with RED is anyone's guess but I'll post that outcome when I know more. It will also mean in real terms a drastic reduction in the time I can spend contributing to these pages (I hear the cheers) but I'm looking to develop a blog to follow the adventure.

Until things are decided for start dates etc I'll be remaining in Palau. I'm expecting to be up to speed and heading for the first project as of the end of October. Should be a blast.

First thing will be a move back to the U.K, sheesh I'll have to go out and buy some warm clothes!! Planning to see if I can squeeze in the HSE Commercial Diving exams and then over to DC in October and on to projects after that. Will be independent until October next year or until all appropriate papers and work visas are in place to legally allow my presence at Head Office.

Should be a blast. I've planned to start a blog, the new boss is OK with it, so will also be looking to update that whilst 'in the field'.

Not sure about the move back to old blighty though - this summer the weather has been bloody miserable, although of course we did get that half day of sunshine a couple of weeks back, so perhaps I shouldn't complain.

Hopefully we'll get the chance to meet up for a beer or two when you get back.

Hey, just checked your site. Impressive images. I particularly like your topside stuff. I look at underwater shots everyday so I'm not ignoring your wet work. I prefer topside in photography as a personal preference.

Chris was a laugh, good diver too. He was always pretty laid back and had a joke to share with everyone. Done some good dives.

P.S For those who don't know, Chris Boardman represented England as a cyclist in the Olympics (I'm gonna say Barcelona??).......and won Gold. He's now a freelance sports writer.
