I"m having a tough decision on 3 different strobes here. One is the morris Slave flash, the second is the Ikelite Substrobe A35, and the third is the Bonica strobe light. If someone could please give some insights on these strobes that would be great. My budget is only a little less then $200 and will go a little under $210 for shipping.

Hello,
I am not familiar w/ the flash on the Canon S50 so hopefully one of our users will chime in.
But I want to let you know that the camera might emit a "preflash" that will trigger any of the 3 flashes in your list "early" meaning before the shutter is open. That would make them totally unusable w/ your camera.
You need to find out if the S50 has a preflash, and if so, if it can be turned off.
Cheers
James

The S50 has preflash and its turn off only in manual mode.
As James wrote, if you want the strobe also in others mode check that there is the option to ignore it in the strobe and also that it's can be synchronized with the S50. From some reason the Sea&Sea YS25 for instance don't work with the S50 but its work with the S30/40/45 that are almost similar.
Hey Roy,
First off you'll need a digital flash to go with your camera. The bonica fits that bill as do the 960D from Sealife, The Sunpak G-flash and Olympus's new UFL-01 are all in that budget area. Ebay has a YS27DX for about $270. If its a strobe made for digital, it should have a built-in preflash ignore. I know the YS27DX and Sunpak G-flash have both slave and ignore mode since I've owned those; however, I've never owned an S50
Well Guys, thanks for your help! I finally got the strobe light off of eBay (link here) and I'll probably buy a flash link for it because I sure don't know how to set pre-flash on my camera unfortunately, that thing is confusing...
Roy,
Its a good, cheap flash and its a touch stronger than most cheap strobes. The only beef I had with it was the battery door. You'll want to follow the instructions very closely when closing that door. I never had a flood but have heard of others who did. Other than that, the Epoque fiber optic cable will fit the camera and you can find those on Ebay, or leisurepro for about $30.
Also one thing although it seems very off topic from the strobe, do you guys have any suggestion for a wide angle lense for the Canon S50?

I can recommended the Inon AD 105, I used it with S30 & S50, also find a way to attach the lens to the housing / strobe / arm when you don't use it, I didn't had this option and I really missed it.
Hi Arnon, Thanks for the suggestion!! I have ordered the AD Mount Base DC300 from Inon themselve and will get the the UWL-105AD Lens. Should I get the UFL-165AD Underwater Fisheye lens? What does that do?

Oh no! I'v accidently flooded my strobe. Its not gonna recover because I was in a dive site called Monastery Canyon and saw the batteries sank down into the canyon along with the cover. This was the Sunpak strobe I just bought on Ebay.
Any opinion on the Olymbus UFL-1? I saw it on Amazon for cheap about $219 dollars.
