Live feed to the boat

  1. I'm pricing for an underwater wedding and the customer would like a video feed to the boat so the guests can watch live on TV.

What parts do I need to do this? Would probably be using my L&M Bluefin but it's likely to be a DV job so I could use my VX2000 in Gates if it's cheaper/more straightforward.

Needs to be displayed on a TV really, not just a little LCD.

  2. ohhhh a lot of things can happen when doing that. You have to make sure the feed wire is long enough that it can take the boat moving around... someone who is smart enough to UNPLUG the cable if it should go bad.

I suggest you buy something like this instead. Just put it on a tripod and position the people around the camera.

If that's too much, check with Gates or L&M. Both their monitor systems are wetplug wired so you can probably adapt their system to a TV instead of a monitor.

You'll need E/O wetplug cables. I believe Bowtech still makes them. Just check with the housing manufacturers on the wiring system. Shouldn't be technically hard but you'll have fun trying to get this stuff in Thailand.

  3. Nick can ship it me and I'll hand carry it for him. :(

On a a seriouse note - cable to surface and wireless relay to boat is possible. If they have a BUDGET , email me.

  4. The budget, unsurprisingly, is not likely to be large. There's an intermediate producer between me and the customer. It sounds like one of those that if i can't do the live feed for next to nothing then they'll find a cheaper videographer.

Anyway it's good to know the info about stuff like this for future reference. Have emailed Gates and L&M about it.
