  1. Dear Alex Mustard

I want to say thank you very much for helping me to get a better lighting using 10.5mm

    I really appreciated it

    do you still remember that,

Last week i posted a question about lighting 10.5mm using 2 ys-90 auto.

After reading and learning your guidance, i decided to give it a try last sunday.

    Last sunday i went divng with D80 + 10.5mm

i set my strobes to FULL POWER on both sides.

    F8 1/125 manual Mode

I was focusing more on the arm position...

the visibility was really bad. It was only around 5meter (15 feet)

and here are the result that i got from fallowing Alex's tips

(90% of the pictures that i took last Sunday was super ugly hahahahaa. i got nasty back scatter effect on most of my pictures :P )

I have a question for the last pic.

On that last pic i was using F16... it turns out the result was underexposed. my flash didnt have enough power to lit F16. ( adjusted the level a bit, to compensate the underexposed)

I really want to take Wide angle pics using F16-19 ( to get a nice sun ball effect!)

if i only use F8, then i pointed to the sun. The pics turn out very ugly! i cant get the sunball effect!!!

please help me, how to get a nice sun ball effect.

Is it true that i can only get the sun ball effect IF i'm using F16 or F22 (small aperture)

Which is means i need to but the new S&S Ys 250 GN 32.

    Thx you

    Andree

  2. Nice pics.

15' vis is really bad? That's a good day here in New England!

  3. If the subjects are stationary you could try adjusting the shutter to 1/80 if you want the higher f-stops. That may rectify the "underexposure" you are suggesting occurred.

    Cheers

    Todd

  4. You are welcome, Andree. Nice pictures.

    Alex

  5. If you want to stop down, the only way to get a good exposure on the foreground is with more flash power. It may be that your flashes are not strong enough for the f-stops and distance you want to shoot at.

    Cheers

    James

  6. I like the last shot, though the sea fan maybe a little underexposed. Try boosting your ISO, assuming your strobes are at full power.

Where in So Ca did you shoot these?

  7. Hi all ^^

Next time i'll try to slow down the shutter speed to 1/30 or even 1/15 :P

since the subject is not moving at all. For all of these picture, i set my Ys_90 to full power.

There pictures were shoot at province, Lampung (South of sumatra), 30 minutes by airplane from Jakarta :D

it's not famous at all :(

i went diving at least 2-3 times in a month. Since the diving in my province is very cheep  (1 full day of diving, 2 tanks, boat and lunch, only cost me aroud US$20-25)

    Andree

NOTE: I think i'll buy S&S YS-250 Pro very soon hehehe, i'm getting addicted to shoot wide-angle)
