  1. hello, i have been saving money to buy a SEA&SEA housing to nikon D50 with lens 18mm-55mm, and YS 110 Strobe. But i was searching for people that might been using this to underwater photography, but i can't find anyone. Is this camera not a very good choice to underwater photography in matter of SLR digital cameras? will this housing work with lens extension rings, for a better "macro"?

Meanwhile im searching for a compact digital + housing, i think im going to buy Cannon G5 + Ikilite housing with DS50 Strobe, what you think about this camera?

    Hi

I have been using Dx-D50 with nikon 10.5mm, 12-24mm, 60mm macro and 105 VR for most of my Underwater works. Nikon D50 is a wonderful camera!! the color is amazing!!!

  4. Hello, thanks for the reply. Nice photos you have there  .

    What is your DX-D50 Setup?

Hii, thx you for visiting my website

the set-up for my macro work:

    2 units of Ys-90 auto

2 units of sea arm VI

    1 dual sync cord

NX compact macro port + S macro port (For 60mm)

NX compact macro port + M macro port (For 105mm)

Athena 105 macro port + Inon wet diopter for super macro

    Sea & Sea LX-15

    For my wide-angle works:

    2 units of Ys-90 auto

2 units of sea arm VI

    1 dual sync cord

NX Compact macro dome port + CX dome port (for nikon 12-24 or 18-55)

Sea&Sea optical dome port (for Fisheye 10.5)

I'm thinking to buy Inon 240Z 2 units to replace my Sea&Sea Ys-90 auto

  5. The mayor difference you going to find using a D50 is that you have only one dial for shutter speed and aperture, I use it under an ikelite housing and so far I don´t have any issues, it´s just a two step process.

But if you want to upgrade later, I advise you to buy a used D70s, even when image quality is exactly the same in both cameras, is going to be easy to sell it later.

  6. well i can't afford D70s, but they will lower the price, because D300 and D2x are out there :)

but the housing and accessories for the D50 is a bit expensive. But i can't do underwater photography with film cameras, so i bought a Cannon G5 with ikelite housing and DS50 ikelite strobe, i will try to improve my underwater photography and at the same time save some money to buy lens for the D50 and the housing setup. For what i read cannon G5 it's a nice camera for underwater.
