Choosing a port for ikelite housing

4 posts
  1. I am new to this so this might sound like a dumb question but here goes. :) I have a Nikon D200 and want to get a good macro lens for it. I will be getting the Ikelite housing with a flat port. If I get another lens does that mean that I will have to get another port for that specific lens? I am considering the Nikon 60mm macro as my first lens and possibly the 105mm as a second lens. Then list the #5502.41 for the 60mm and the #5505.46 or the #5505.5 for the 105. My question is what is the difference and will one of the ports be able to handle both lenses?

    Thanks for any advice.

  2. 5505.46 is for the 105 Vibration Reduction version (VR) of the 105mm, the 5505.5 is for the old version of the 105mm.

The 5505.5 will handle both lens perfectly, i don´t know about the 5505.46.

  3. The 5505.46 should be able to handle the 60 with no problem too. The only thing is that there will be more empty space between the lens and the port.

  4. Well that said, Ikelite can start making only one port for the three lens!, now they need to figure how to make an extension ring for teleconverters and diopters!!! (sorry "diverkenz" i got out of topic a little bit...)

I should work for ikelite... hehe.
