1920x1080 resolution (and the XDCAM HD codec records in full resolution). It can also record in 1440x1080 XDCAM format to SxS express card media. Unlike the XDCAM line, this camcorder (similar in size to the HVR-Z1) records files in MP4 file wrappers....... It shoots in native progressive scan in 1080/25P, uses the 25mbps HDV format, and supports DVCAM as well.
I feel the cave man in the Geico commercial where he is asked to respond to a psychologist's babble and gives an exasperated, "What?"
So, like, will it take really cool videos?
Are those MP4 file wrappers paper or plastic?
This should scare me from video for another good 2 or 3 years.
Yeah,,,Stick to taking snaps...
Leave the 'real art' to the men of the video threads

George, they pretty much do the same thing... just that the workflow has changed dramatically.
Sorta like when RAW and RAW converters came into play for DSLR.
File wrappers are just a fancy name for files encoded in a certain format, like MP4, MP3 or m2t.
Sorta like NEF, CR2 etc.
I leave for a month and suddenly they release cameras that are slated for later in the year and without a name too! Everybody is learning how to hype like RED.
