Jellyfish from the UK

  1. I took a photo of this Jellyfish at the weekend off Lundy island in the Bristol channel in the UK.

Can anyone put a name to it for me?

It was about 3 inches across and I saw only one.

    Thanks

  2. It looksa very similar to species we get in British Columbia that we call a water jelly, Aequorea sp. Perhaps it's related.

    Cheers,

    Marli

  3. A. forskalea can match

    sunny regards

  4. It is definately Aequorea sp. as to what species, Claudia Mills or Gerhard Jarms might know... I would just stick to Aequorea sp. though... check out Claudia's section on the species naming of Aequorea...

I'm wondering now if it is Aequorea aequorea.
