I've got a problem with a heinrich's DA2 and ike ds51. Looks like the ds51 is fine.,..
Scoping out the synch cord, I notice there are only 4 wires going through - ground, trigger, quench, & ready. Nothing connected for TTL-Power/3.3k/whatever that 5th wire is called.
Is it supposed to go through?
Thanks,
Don
If my reading of Ikelite's FAQ page on sync cord wiring is correct, the SP pin is wired directly to ground within the sync cord plug, so there will only be four wires running through the cord. If I am correct, you should be able to measure a 3.3K resistance between SP and ground at the sync cord end.
That was my reading of the same docs as well.
And I cannot measure the 3.3kohm there, either.
Is this the Ikelite digital TTL cord (one of the ones with a blue band), or one of the older nikonos type cords? From memory the digital TTL cords should be wired through, while the non-TTL digital cords are the ones with the SP pin wired to ground. I'll check on one of mine when I get home and see if I can measure the 3.3K resistor.
