I just recieved the Iklite housing for the oly5050, and the Iklite DS125 with the TTL sensor. I tried taking some pictures but they all turned under exposed. I have a feeling that the sensor does not work properly. I don't know if the problem is technical or I just didn't use it properly.
I need some advice. Thanks!!

First post a few images so we can see, as well as the settings the image was taken at. It may be your settings didn't allow for enogh light even with a full dump. TTL can't dump more light than the strobe can provide.
Some other normal issues:
1. If there is a lot of blue water in the image, TTL wont work correctly. Need to shoot wide angle images on manual
2. If it on macro, you may need to set the cameras exposure control to plus a few stops until you get an exposure you like with TTL
Thanks,

I had a similar problem with my DS 125 and sensor. Does your sensor have the red octopus decal next to the "sensor"? Mine did not.
I called Ike and it turned out the sensor had not been updated (whatever that means). I sent the sensor and strobe to Ikelite and they returned it within a week (updated AND now with the octopus decal). Worked great ever since.
The red octopus identifies the sensor as having been updated. I ordered mine from B&H and wonder if it was sitting on the shelves for a while.
Hope this helps,
John

Well Felix, I had the same problem with my ds125 ttl sensor. Your problem may have a very simple solution. Try turning the sensor back towards the back of the housing. I had to turn mine so far back that the sensor actually faces behind the housing. Just turn it back a little and fire off a couple of shots and keep turning it back until it gets the exposure correct. Apparently, if the sensor is facing too far forward or facing toward the camera's internal flash like the manual suggests, it actually sees the ds125 pre flash and causes the strobe to quench too soon. You can also look here TTL Sensor Problem Solution for a discussion of my problem and the solution. Good luck.

I am thinking of attaching a "blinder" on the sensor to block out reflected light from the image............anyone think this might work instead of aiming toward the rear of the housing?
A piece of thin black plastic and zip tie could act as a shield............can't try it till the end of May

Here's another idea.............check out the sensor face.............clear plastic that wraps around the sides.................this could easily help transmit light back to the sensor from the side................Think I'll wrap the sides with black tape
