any body who owns an inon fisheye 165 lens

  1. I own a housing that they don't make a mount for this lense. So I am wondering a couple of things to see if I can make it work

    1. How does it attach to the housing port if at all?

    2. It looks like it screws into the bottom of the housing? is this correct?

    Thanks

  2. Hi Chadback

    i own a sony P150 and housing

the way it attaches to this housing is via the tripod mount on the bottom of the housing

there is an 'L' shaped piece of metal that is fixed to the tripod mount then the AD mount that holds the lens is also screwed to this piece of metal at right angles which goes over the port of the housing.

it does not connect to the port part just slots over it

the port on this housing has a diameter of 58 mm

if you are practical you just need to find the AD mount for the same diameter of port on your housing and make up a plate to fix to the housing , i would think

there might be areason why they do not make a mount for your camera , it would be worth e-mailing Inon to get some feedback or answers

i will try and put some photos up later for you

  3. I have the 165 for my Fuji F40 (recently deceased!) and it mounts as Vinny says. The 165 is not compatible with all compacts - I think it depends on the angle of coverage and the size of the lens of your compact, but I am not expert. One of the reasons I chose the F40 was that Inon had made a 165 mount for it.
