My local photo club is looking to purchase a digital projector with somewhat limited funds. It will be used primarily for club meetings to project images, slide-shows, etc. I have read that LCD is better than DLP for digital photography applications. Any coments or recommendations.

We have an Epson TW 700.
Its goes up to 1280/720 and is very good to watch HD stuff on, even hooked the computer to it one day...2 meter screen.
Cost around $2500+ AUD

Thanks for the response. That looks like a nice unit but it's probably a little over our budget. We.re primarily looking for something to project still images. Good color fidelity and resolution being our main concerns.

Look at one of the less expensive Epsons. I have one and use it for classes with good results. Not sure which model but they change so frequently probably won't help. B&H has several models.

I am very happy with my Dell 2300MP for 'slide' shows. Excellent colour fidelity and contrast.
Cheers
