Cabo San Lucas Hotels, any suggestions?

I am planning to be on the Wetpixel trip to Socorro in February, and will probably get in a day or two early. Anyone have any suggestions for a hotel and local dive ops?

I stay at Solmar Suites 7 years ago and the oceanfront rooms have a nice view indeed . Nice beach but don't even think to take a swim , the riptide is really dangerous.

I s very close to The Arch but the opposite side and i remember that the food was only regular . The best to eat is the small restaurants around the dock , the catch of the day ( mostly tunas and mahi-mahi ) are great and really fresh .

For diving i recommend a day trip to La Paz , from there you can dive Los Islotes , that is great for sea lions photography shallow water , good viz , plentiful of young sea lions ( well i was there in May ) and best of all without fighting with the surge and waves ( i think you must know what i'm referring to )

Diving around Cabo is so-so .
