I acquired a Canon 5D about 6 months ago, along with a Sea & Sea 5D-DX housing. I've been using the camera just for macro shooting and I'm loving it!
Now I'm thinking about moving on to WA shooting with the 5D and I've already purchased the necessary fisheye dome port. I'm currently in the market for a 15mm lens and I'm undecided as whether to purchase a Canon or Sigma.
I was wondering if anyone felt that there were advantages to using Sigma over Canon when it comes to the 15mm lens.
Thanks in advance for your advice about these brands, and I'd appreciate whatever advice you might have to offer about moving into the WA realm of digital U/W photography (to date I'm still using my trusty old Nikonos V for WA). Robyn
I use the Sigma w/ the 5D and 1DsII and I like it a lot. Many think it performs as well or better than the Canon lens. The closest focus is closer than the Canon lens.
The next WA lens you may want to look at is the Tokina 17mm ATX. It's about $350 and it's one of the sharpest lenses at 17mm that you can get for use on the Canon cameras. Another good choice is the Canon 17-40L
Cheers
