Diving in Turkey Where Recommended?

4 posts
  1. May be heading to Turkey in May next year and just after a few diving recommendations. Have heard the water is clear with not much to see, but any advise on the best places to dive (to see wrecks and marine life)and who to dive with would be appreciated, either land based or liveaboard.

    Regards

  2. Hi Nigel,

I can recommend the little village called KAS.

Superb diving (for the med sea) and not very crowded with tourist.

    Its calm and laid back.

Check this site to get an idea:

  3. Christian,

Thanks for the tip, from the searches I did on the internet Kas does sound the best.

    Regards

    Nigel

  4. I agree, Kas is defintely one of the nicer areas to dive in Turkey. Also, the village is very, very nice and has banned the large scale touristic development that is ruining the charm of places all along the Turkish coast.

Here's a PDF of an article I did on the place for a Dutch diving magazine.

Great atmosphere, no big hotels or large resorts, friedly people and a very layed back style of diving. Plenty of great places to eat or stay though. If you have some time, rent a car and drive around the beautiful countryside.

www.kas-diving.com is a great operator to go with. The owner, Levent, is a superfriendly hyperactive guy who has a great way of doing his briefings (a large towel is involved).
