Has anyone set up a Seacam housing with a Heinreich adaptor. I am setting up a new 5D housing and I am curious what would be involved?

Seacam Heinreich adaptor?

I have heard of it being done. Basically it involves soldering :-) I would send an email to Steve Frink or Ryan at Reef Photo to get their feedback - or maybe they will chime in here.
So you're switching from 1DsII to 5D? I tried that but eventually went back to the big camera...
Cheers

We've done lots of Heinrichs installations.
If it were my housing, I'd get an S6 socket, and use this:

Wow, that looks sweet Ryan. I'm glad I waited.

That sure is a big upcharge just for the different connector.
Nice to know it's an option. -

Nice to know it's an option.Having the TTL exposure compensation knob on the outside can be handy. Although if you really need to use that frequently, there's not much point to having the TTL in the first place.

I will give you a call to discuss this. What Sea&Sea strobes are compatible. Any non Sea&Sea strobes?
I will check thier website.

Talk me out of it. Can you give me your thoughts on changing then going back to the 1 series. Your input would be very much appreciated. Possibly save me a lot of trouble.
Right now I have 1DII not N and 1DsII. I find when traveling other than diving I more often than not am taking my 5D.
I was thinking.
Pros
Smaller housing
Good time to sell 1DsII
Less expensive camera to flood, less than on third the cost.
Easier button arrangement.

Slower Focus?

That's about right. The image quality from the 5D may be slightly better as well. It has the pixel size of the 1DmkII but in a full frame sensor.
