Hi all,
I'm recently returned from a trip from Ambon to Sorong on SevenSeas. Said trip was put together by the inimitable Drew. A lurgie ran through us in the middle of the trip, and some of the sites had challenging visibility due to recent rainstorms and heavy overcast, but all in all it was still a productive trip for me.
I started the trip with 1 x SS200 strobe and 2 x DS51's, and ended the trip using a pair of Sea and Sea YS250pro's (awesome strobes), after Neptune took his tribute (from myself and others
)
I discovered that I suck at macro.
In terms of shots that made it back to the boat, I used the following lenses in descending order
Tokina 10-17 (mainly @ 10mm)
Nikon 12-24
Nikon 60
Nikon 105 VR
1600 shots (topside and underwater) made it home, out of 2500 shot (!).
The gallery linked below is a first pass at shots I like. With the cold I suffered in the middle of the trip, there is a bit of a lacuna in coverage from the FakFak peninsula. This was also where the vis suffered the most.
Comments and critiques welcome. Click the lionfish to go to the gallery.
