I'm looking into getting one of those DVMultiRigs for uptop shots.
Anyone have one or used one?
Maybe not the best for stabilization on the move but looks very versatile.

Consider the Spiderbrace too Wags. They're very well liked. Simple and rugged. I think I saw a pic of Drew using one in Nick J's sardine run pics. However the trouble with a simple shoulder brace like that for a small, non-shoulder-mount camera is that, although they help with stability, they don't really relieve the weight on your arms for a long shoot unless you add weight behind your shoulders to counterbalance the camera's weight. That one you're looking at might be better because of the strut down to your belly.
Personally I find Sony's own little shoulder brace to be really good just for reducing the shakes. Ridiculously expensive for what it is but mine lives on my camera whenever it's not in its housing. I think Shawnh has one too.
Spiderbrace looks simple as well, thanks Nick.
I was also looking at some Steadicam clips...WOW....
the Indicam looks very cool price wise for what you get.
Opens up a whole new way to shoot stuff for clients uptop.
The $14 Steadycam is a lot cooler price wise ![]()
I made one similar to that with 2 x 2lb diving weights on the bottom. I had a play with it and it works well once you learn how to "glide" with it. No harness though so no good for extended shoots. Nice to have in the kit though.
Thats cool Nick, yes it would be hard to hang onto it for long?
I think I would get tried trying pretty quick through without a vest.
I think I'm sold on getting a rig now.
Getting some info from Indicam..seems like a good setup for the price for the FX1 and should take the XDCAM EX later on.
