  1. My wife and I spent a week in Lembeh and a week in Raja Ampat. First time to Indonesia, first trip with the dSLR. Comments welcome, criticism grudgingly accepted :).

  2. That second pic is great; please educate me on what I'm looking at.

  3. Nice work.

Thanks. I can't tell you much beyond "a pipe fish swimming through coral polyps." Will have to get out my ID books, I think it's pretty common.

  5. You have just made me very very jealous. Those are excellent shots you've got! Now you've got me itching to go to Lembeh..... where the heck am I going to find the time!?!

Glad the money isn't an issue big fella!

Got a box of spirits and a pool with your name on it if you venture this way!

    Nice shots Tim!

You are based in Lembeh now? Great! You might get our wish.... :P I could well be there in a month or 2. :D

  8. great job Tim, the 1st two photos are really nice, even more so for a new dSLR user...great choice of subject/background combinations and nice composition. the 3rd photo seems a little dark for me on the reef, and I personally don't find the reef that attractive. still, not bad for a sunburst/reef shot, those are quite difficult due to the extreme contrasts.

so tell us about your setup! which camera, housing, strobes? which lenses did you use for the photos?

    looking forward to more photos

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure on the 3rd photo either; I underexposed it deliberately, but might try to go back and reprocess to brighten it up a bit.

I'm shooting a D80, Aquatica housing, 2 SB105s, with the Nikon 60 or 105 macro and Tokina 10-17. I really, really enjoyed that fisheye, I must say.

I'd love to go back to both of these places - felt like I just started to hit my stride when it was time to leave. Oh well - time to start saving up the frequent flier miles again.

Hi Tim going to these two areas in Dec/Jan 08. Really enjoyed looking at all of your photos and getting a glimpse of what we might see during our dives. :)
