Ikelite vs Inon Add-On Lenses (WA and CU)

3 posts
  1. OK, so I'm getting close to setting up a new Canon G9/Ikelite housing rig and need some advice on add-on lenses. I dive primarily in the Pacific Northwest in drysuit with murky water so I need to be able to get close to my subject.

I'm interested in both of the WA lenses but am also looking for info on the Inon close up lenses.

Reading either Inon or Ikelite's website doesn't give me any true insight into the quality of the images. Looking at people's pictures helps but not everyone IDs what add-on they are using.

Thanks in advance for your input to my rambling,

    Brian

  2. All my photos in a previous G7 thread are using the Epoque WA lens, which to my understanding is what the Ike WA lens is, just with a different name on it. I've been told the Inon is slightly better, however, I doubt anyone could tell the difference.

Problem with the Ike housings and add on lenses is they're not specifically made to go together. Again, only what I've been told, but Ike don't test their housings for the lenses, ie don't position them correctly. This is why you get a little blurring.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Ikelite housing with my G7!
