Squid with D60!

  1. I played with a bunch of squid at Molokini crater tonight, and have over a hundred squid photos that I like, even after pruning the ones that were "bad." :) Here's one of 'em. The raw file is available here:

1/125s, f13. Resized and sharpened. No color correction. D60 with UK Germany housing, Canon 50/2.5 compact macro. 100mm macro port (there is some extra air-space), 2 Ikelite DS125 strobes on 1/4th power, with diffuser.

And, a 600x400 pixel crop of the center of the image (straight out of the camera):

I am very, very impressed by this camera.

  2. The only place I've gotten wet with squid was Bonaire, had a nice long encounter with them there.

    Where are the other shots?

  3. Heniochus sp. Also sometimes called the "Schooling Bannerfish"

This is too fun! More more!

    Those squid shots are amazing!

    Cheers
