    sigh.

Only slight improvement in the shutter lag due to using a flash.

When canon finally does a major improvement in the autofocus, to make it work as well as a 3 year old sony, the G 10 or G11 might finally be truly great, for underwater photo.

  2. I agree , its a real shame as the specs and controls seemed to make this an ideal set up.

Anyway the major prob for me regarding the G9 is the problems adding a WA wet lens.

I think i am going to get the Nikon P5100.

  3. Two G7 customers I've recently put the short port and Ikelite W20 lenses on are more than happy with their wide angle results.

You do have to tap the zoom in one teensy bit to avoid vignetting but it sure is a lot wider and the images look fine.

As far as all the measurbating on the G9, RAW, blah, blah, blah, both the G7 and G9 can produce very good images, capable of being enlarged to a decent 11 X 14 print when exposed properly.

No, the sensor isn't a dSLR size one and the AF and flash synch coordination isn't dSLR speed either. But it doesn't cost the same nor is as large a system to haul on a trip.

    YMMV
