I have a DX-D50 housing and am looking to buy a dome port. I will purchase one of the acrylic ports, either the Fisheye or Compact Dome. What are the pros and cons of each?

What lens?
The only lens I have right now is the 18-70mm kit lens. I know this is not ideal for underwater and I hope to be adding additional lenses soon. First on my list is either a nikon or sigma 12-24mm, sigma 10-20mm or a fisheye in the 15mm to 16mm range. I'm more interested in how the dome would work with one of the yet to be bought lenses. Of course, I'm new to this, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

I went for the Big FE Dome, IMHO, the only real disadvantage of the big dome is it's pretty bulky to travel with, but a couple of 10" cake tins protect it pretty well.
The smaller domes will need stronger dipoters for your midrange and wider lenses. You will lose corner sharpness.
I use the 18-70mm with a +2 diopter with the big dome with good results
I also like the Tokina 12-24 w/+2 diopter
The Tokina 10-17mm FE is excellent.
I haven't used the compact dome, but have heard that it will produce good results with a FE lens
These lenses completely cover my mid-range to wide angle photography needs.
Hope this will help you with your decision.
