First dive with new rig

7 posts
  1. Well hopefully plans don't fall through tomorrow. Im planning on going diving for the first time with my new set up. Anyone have any last minute tips for me? I'd deffinitley appreciate it. Mahalo!

  2. Have fun. Where are you going? I'll be in Oahu next month for business but should find time to squeeze in a dive or two...

  3. HI,

take your time putting your rig together, remember to take the lens cap off & do test shots

before getting in the water. Once in the water remember your saftey/buddies are more important

than any shot you wish to take. Have a great time & get some great shots

  4. If you can, make a first dive without the camera in the housing to make sure there are no leaks. When you put the camera in, don't forget the lens cap - been there, done that :guiness: And as Andy said, take your time to prepare the rig.

    good luck

  5. Thanks for the pointers, I made a test dive earlier without the camera in the housing so i was set to go. Things went pretty well, but it was my first dive in long time and with all new gear so just regulating my buoyancy was a challenge. I got a few decent shots though i suppose for my first time out. I posted a couple on my deviantart page. (link is on the bottom) Let me know what you think.

  6. Cool pics for your first try, I am sure once you get more comfortable to being underwater again, you'll produce some awesome shots. Pictures on your website are just stunning! (I first tought those aquarium pictures were your first u/w pictures :guiness: Those are incredible btw). I especially like the colours of your pictures and the way you crop/frame your pictures. That Eagle in Flight and Fall Colours ;) Sweet stuff!
