  1. Here are a couple of my first shots i took yesterday morning. I did quite a bit of photoshop work on the second one, it needed it, the water just didnt look how it did in real life. Mostly because im sure i botched the exposure. Let me know what you think and please give me some pointers, thanks. The shot of the turlte, i added just a bit or saturation and a levels adjustment. not quite sure what to do yet processing underwater images. It's all new to me.

There is one more shot i posted on my DA site (link below) they show all the camera settings too.

  2. I would crop and turn the turtle pic slightly. The 2nd one certainly shows all those Oahu vibrant colors...haha. Were you shooting natural light?

  3. haha, yea Oahu's reefs arent very colorful. not the best diving thats for sure. I was using strobes, but pretty sure iw asnt using them correctly. It wasnt very deep though either and it was late morning so there was quite a bit of sunlight.

  4. If you haven't dived hanauma bay crater, its well worth the hassle of bringing tanks in. You'll get some great fish pics as they're very friendly. The rim is nice as well. I've been told that there's another reef about 75yds from the crater that is absolutely great but a single tank won't get you there. I usually snorkel out as far as I can and then drop down. Gives me more time at the edge of the crater where you're more likely to see some pelagics.

I haven't been diving there yet, but I have snorkeled there quite a bit. One of these days ill make it out there im sure. I usually snorkel right past the break on the outer reef. With winter just around the corner the diving will be limited out here and Hanauma Bay will probably be a good place to go. How often do you come to Hawaii? If you come out soon and plan to dive Hanauma, let me know if you need a dive buddy.
