  2. You have awesome detail on those pygmies. Recently I was in the Philippines, and although the guide found both the pink and yellow pygmies, since I was diving with a group, I only had a few minutes with them, and didn't get anywhere near the detail you got. I think that the only way to get really good images like yours would be to hire my own guide and spend at least a whole dive with them.

Did you really fill the frame with them, or did you crop? What sort of macro setup are you using. I have a macromate and it worked pretty well, but the DOF was so shallow it was really hard to find them in the viewfinder and to keep the camera steady.

  3. Excellent shots......very sharp and tighly composed. Although I'm a little burned out on pygmy shots these are better than most.

    Well done!

  4. I agree with Lionfish...seen my share lately but those are at the top. Bravo!

BTW...I'd crop the last one a little tighter.

  5. Thanks to all for the kind words ! The first shot of h. bargibanti is a crop of an horizontal shot, the others are cropped just a little bit, less than 10 %. Lens used : Nikkor 105 Vr for h.bargibanti and Nikkor 60 for h. pontohi.

  6. Brilliant pygmys. Agree with the rest that these are some of the best.

  7. Well done, great details
