New Ocean Rover, N Sulawesi, 2008 promo

  1. If anyone's at DEMA then pop over to see Jeroen at Ocean Rover's stand, where you'll be able to pick up their new promo vid for N. Sulawesi... produced by us....

have also uploaded a tiny version of it (nothing as big as Wags-class..... my hoster won't allow me anything too large unless I pay him ludicrous amounts of dosh.....) and the compression takes away that stunning glossy HD finish - shame but, hey..... trying to find the means to get the 250Meg or so file uploaded somewhere... (wagsy, is your server still open?)

    http://www.waterworksproductions.biz/video...02007%20WEB.mov

It's an example of our new, turn-key service - offering every single stage of a presentation to the client from A through to Z.... 3D logo animation, soundtrack production and the media print and duplication (burning 100 DVDs/hr) is all inhouse........... not a moment's delay with outsourcing....... etcetera

No comments on the website, please - i know that it's been in a stagnant state of semi-construction for about a year now but major updates are in the final stages of development...... STILL!!!! :)

    Till then, then.....

    back to playing catchup!!!

    Toodlepip!

  2. Nice work there.

Certainly looks like a great boat to dive from and what wonderful images. :)

Hey what software did you use to make the 3D animated graphics at the start?

  3. Great promo vid - really showed the variety of marine life, possible for that region. Enjoyed the quick cuts of the shots. Where was the whale shark filmed?

    Thanks for posting.

  4. Yes, really nice work!

I really like the voice over bits of the passengers. Perfect for a promo video.

I don't now but diving from that boats would make me really lazy ;-)

  5. cheers for the kind words, chaps......

it's a long story, but the whole video got turned on it's head 10 weeks into the project and only about two and a half weeks before the DEMA-enforced deadline!!! I was on a daily mission of passed-midnight finishes in order meet customer's needs and expectations!!! ;):);)

Evidently all good in the end, though....

Wagsy, yup, its an absolutely fantastic vessel - I can't big it up enough... hopefully the customer testimonials did a good enough job of that already..... How cool are our lives? We GET PAID to get on a boat that would normally cost us 5000USD EACH to be on board for 10 days..... :o Plus, this was our third such trip with them..... 2 of us, three trips, you do the maths..... It is lovely to be able to revel in that warm, oozy feeling you get when an old client wants you back, eh?

I can thoroughly suggest you stay well away from 3D animation - it took me 57 days to create that 15 second clip.... :D:lol:

I was learning it all through a complete and totally repetitive format of that well know technique "trial and error" with minimal chances of reading through any useful words of instruction, (I was blagging the free demo download in order to suss out whether or not it was worth the 1000US for the full version..... therefore couldn't access much in the way of useful instructions.... suffice to say, I now own the full blown version and take great pride in being able to make an expensive company's logo look as expensive and high class as it should........ if that makes sense.....)

Anyhows, Strata 3D is the name and it totally rocks - you can build a shiny looking evil robot from Terminator with that stuff, man..... (I wouldn't try to though! :P )

Very satisfying though, after approx 8 weeks of doing my head in, to sit back, render it down and see the fruits of my labour materialise before my very eyes...... I even jumped for joy and gave a little Homer-esque WooHoo!

Bryce - as we're mostly industry specialists, I think that it's fair to say that one reason (of the many) that we are chosen for our work is that we have a large collection of stock footage to pull clips from.... I will therefore proudly hold up my hands and state clearly that that specific whale shark was not from Bunaken...... :D What's it called? "artistic license?" :):)

gonna add some more posts next door now..... cheers again people......

Well-well! What a nice surprise! It's been a while, eh? hope you and Cor are both well - you certainly seem busy getting well-deserved recognition throughout certain areas of the dive-industry... here included.....

Gak's there..... Take a second look..... shes' modeling the shot in the cabin..... and she's shooting in the WA angle shot of the shoaling trevally... it's kind of a bum shot :P

lovely to see you! will have to be in touch more...... when's your next trip to Thailand?
