Hi,
They look like eggs to me, but does anyone have an idea who they're from?
Thanks,

they look like squid eggs...
what do you think, experts?
yes, squid eggs for sure
yes, squid eggs for sure
okay
thanks
Next 2 questions that come to my mind:
-Is 1 "condom-like" structure 1 egg or is it a congreggation of multiple eggs (white dots inside)? Just wondering as flamboyant cuttlefish have separate eggs (close-up)
-Can anyone explain the difference between a squid and a cuttlefish. So far I have only found culinary differences on the internet ![]()

Each package contains hundreds to thousands of eggs suspended in a mucus matrix. Cuttlefish always have separate round eggs like the ones you photographed although they may bind them together like a bunch of grapes.
Cuttlefish and squids are in separate groups. Cuttles have an internal calcareous shell, the feeding tentacles retract into pouches, and all cuttles have a fin which is continuous around the body, and the suckers are soft. Squid lack the internal shell, the feeding tentacles don't retract, the fin may or may not be continuous, and the suckers have chitinous teeth on the rims.
Each package contains....cut....chitinous teeth on the rims.
Thank you, Leslie
