  1. Dear All Y'all:

     

    I know this camera is ancient, but it's still a goodie. Besides, I don't have the scratch for a new one.

     

    I can still get the JVC housing for it, but I have two questions which the customer service representative couldn't answer.

     

    1) Can I get replacement O-rings from JVC? If not, where can I get them? Are they a standard size?

     

    2) The integrated light can get very hot. Is it ok to use it while the camera is in the housing and underwater? Can the light be controled while in the housing?

    No idea, I'd call a different CSR who does know...
    If not, where can I get them?
    www.allorings.com. Or your local hydraulic parts supplier.
    Are they a standard size?
    ask JVC. Get the AS568A Dash # from them as that's how they're referenced. And the material - although it's probably Buna-N or Nitrile.
    2) The integrated light can get very hot. Is it ok to use it while the camera is in the housing and underwater?
    I wouldn't. I'd be concerned about what the heat is doing to the camera and the tape.
    Can the light be controled while in the housing?
    No idea, ask the new CSR when you talk to them.
