Will Canon xti housing fit a xt?

  1. I think I found a good deal on a xti housing but I have an Xt, I was wondering if they are the same size, button placement, etc. so I could use it for my xt. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

  2. In a word. No. You might be able to get a few buttons working but a majority will not be accessable.

IMO, if you can get a great deal on an XTi housing, just sell your XT and get and XTi. The savings on the housing will more than make up for the cost to upgrade the body....

  3. dubdiver, which housing is it? If it's a Ikelite, it will involve a little more DIY'ing. If it's a Sea & Sea, a very simple modification to the rear buttons is all that is needed. There were a few threads on modding a Ikelite as well as S&S housing for this her on wetpixel. A search should pull them up for you.

  4. Pakman: he means the opposite of what you've done. He wants to put a 350 into a 400 housing.

    Cheers

    James

  5. oops, my bad... I'm dyslexic today...
