As some of you know, I help out with the Underwater Videographer Podcast at www.underwatervideographer.tv. We are planning a special Sea Hunt 50th Anniversary Special in December.
Many of you, like me, developed the interest in diving from watching Sea Hunt. As part of the Special, I wanted to give any of you the opportunity to share any memories of Sea Hunt or Lloyd Bridges. Also, you may want to share how the Show influenced you into diving. I plan to read the best ones on the Podcast intro.
Thank you for your help.
Before he passed away, Lloyd Bridges donated a large sum of money to CEDAM, a marine conservation group that ran volunteer expeditions, to award one scholarship each year to an educator that promoted conservation of the marine environment to join one of the expeditions, all expenses paid. I was lucky enough to be the second such recipient, and spent my expedition helping to photograph and take a census of the Bonaire Marine Park. It really helped me to hone my skills in underwater photography and marine ID, which seem to still be a big part of my life, so I am grateful to this day.
Cheers,
Marli

Marshall,
I did an interview with Lloyd Bridges about 18 months before he died. It was published in Discover Diving, and was republished in Skin Diver as a tribute after his death. I'd can send you the text of the article to use as needed if you're interested.

If you were interested I could contact Zale Perry and see if she would be willing to talk to you. She has lots of tales about Sea Hunt. I wouldn't want to disturb her privacy unless she was willing though.
