  1. Hi I am looking at chartering the Dolphin Dream for a tiger and great hammerhead shark trip out to the Bahamas. Have any of you guys been on her and do you have any trip reports posted online.

    Many thanks Stew Smith

  2. On a recent Shearwater trip (Abernathy) there were folks who had been on the Dolphin Dream; their opinion was to stick with the Shearwater to put it mildly.

    could you elaborate !!!!!!!

As this was not my own experience, I'm a little wary of saying too much. If you've ever been on the Shearwater you would know that the crew, even if Abernathy is not on board, have a very high level of experience with encounters with Tigers in particularly. So you are essentially guaranteed multiple encounters with a high degree of predictability, safety, great photo ops etc. The crew and captain are involved in all the dives to this end, participating with and diving with the divers, with a lot of comeraderie (sp?). Also pretty good with dolphin encounters. Food is excellent.

Let's just say that the report I was given is that this is not necessarily the case on Dolphin Dream.

  5. So what are you trying to say....the food is not that good, the diving is dangerous or not very good.

I would not have thought there would be any guarantees of tigers with JASA.

or do you just happen to know Jim and like to promote his outfit.

I am sure his trips are very good and I was trying to charter the shearwater for this trip. but as his employees in his office are so useless in giving me the information that I have asked for I decided to give them a miss.

I have sent 4 emails now asking for information and I have received 2 back without the information that I had asked for.

Perhaps you could ask the guys your original posting referred to, to post some info on here so I can read of THEIR experiences.

I would prefer replies to this posting from people with first hand experience of the Dolphin Dream

    Many thanks Stew Smith

Of course there are no guarantees of Tigers or any other animal with any trip. I have heard similar complaints regarding JASA office staff from others - I will put in a word there today with Rachel.

Just trying to help, as I said, no first hand experience.
