Hi,

The first shot is very nice. Its sharp and the subject is on plane with the lens. Most I think would say that you should be at least level with subject but shooting upwards is ideal. In poor viz, or lots of sediment, getting close is key. Don't be afraid of higher shutter speeds. Otherwise, keep shooting.
