costa rica must do's

hi, my wife and i are heading off for costa rica in 7 days time. we have 4 nights in san jose before we get on the undersea hunter and head for cocos for christamas. are there any must do guided trips that we should be doing from san jose.

I have plenty of recommendations up on the Guanacaste coastline with surfing, rain forest zip linning, ATV along beach and up mountains ... hike Aerial volcano .

You may not want to cruise up there for the 4 days. Although you can drive it in just (if memory serves) 4 hours so from my experience I would recommend if you want to dash up there go for it .. its amazing.

Sorry nothing helpful with San Jose, all i did when i was there was gamble drink eat and shop.

From San Jose you have several options for day tours , depends on your preferences.

For fun/adventure , the thing i had enjoyed the most is river rafting . The Pacuare is the best , pure adrenaline ; for more mild experience and the chance to make some wildlife photography ( specially some poison frogs ) the Sarapiqui river

For wildlife photography a day trip to Carara National Park , i can recommend you a good guide ( i have to look for his phone # that i have somewhere) .

For sightseeing CR countryside and landscape + hummingbirds + butterflies photography, a combined day trip to the Volcan Poas and the waterfalls .

we have booked the sarapiqui river trip and the volcano and waterfall trip. we have also booked the carara national park. thanks for the advice.
