Red sea pictures

  1. Hi All,

I'm quite new in taking underwater pictures and plan to participate to a small contest in here in Belgium.

This contest is made for people like me who has never participated to any contest and are non professional photographs.

I'll participate in 2 categories : "creative" and "warm sea"

All the following pictures are taken with a small Canon A620 and without strobes.

    Here's the creative one

Now I'd like you advise for the next one. I don't know which one I'll send to the contest.

    I hope you'll help me !

Please don't hesitate to critic them, I think it is the only way to really make improvement.

  2. I think the first one, although there is no colour in the Stingray, the way you have the border is quite nice and the composure of the Ray also nice, you just need to get a strobe now. Good luck.

  3. I like the concept of the creative picture. And I would try to play around with the turtle picture as my second shot (maybe bump it a little w/ PS) to bring out a little color and contrast.

Trouble with the others is lack of color. If you can't get a strobe maybe try using something like a magic filter.

  4. Many thanks for the advices !

    And I agree : I definitely need a strobe !

  5. I like the first one and the turtle pic. You can do some simple white balancing in PS that might restore some color. Otherwise, love the composition of the ray.
