aquatica superdome on ikelite housing

I have an aquatica made 8" dome for my ikelite housing. I was wondering if my port body will fit the superdome. If anyone has the superdome can you measure the back opening of the dome body (the threaded part where the port body attaches to the dome)??? Just thought it would be cool to have mineral glass on an ikelite housing!

anyone? Ok if you have an 8 inch aquatica dome what is the diameter of the dome port opening where the port body screws in to it?

Ikelite used to make an adapter so that you could use the older Aquatica 8" dome (from the A80, etc) on their housings. Contact Ikelite about it.

Thanks for the reply James. I think I have the adapter that you mentioned. It came from the 5510.80 dome not listed on the website. I have asked Ikelite about it and they said they have no information about an adapter port for Aquatica. So I guess I'm out of luck until someone can measure it for me or I can test fit it to an Aquatica Dome port.

The Megadome has a bayonet mount, the Ikelite in fact was using our older mount which was a threaded one. I have never heard of an adapter for the Aquatica bayonet to Ikelite mount and unfortunately doubt it would be easily possible.

The opening on the older dome flange was huge and therefore a reducing adapter was feasible for them to make. Bare in mind that the early 8" Aquatica/Ikelite was a limited market production and due to the ensuing success it got they now manufacture their own 8" dome and shade.

We (Aquatica & Ikelite) have a fairly open channel of communication and also entertain a friendly relation, (being competitors doesn’t mean we necessarily have to cut each other’s throat). This being said, I’ve not heard of any plan on their parts to design or adapt our bayonet port system to their system.
