Underwater HD SHOOT

  1. Just got back from a 45 day HD shoot for and overseas network that took us to a few locations around Australia.

Here is the old Phenom beside a custom Titanium housing for a HDCAM.

The HD housing has been all over the world.

And here is a $40,000.... 1000 x HD zoom lens...pretty cool to see peoples faces from 1 km away.

  2. Nice Wags and welcome home buddy! I'll take 2 of those lenses. Can you ship them next day air to me

  3. Hehehe... that's the HJ18... it's 1000mm not 1000x. But it is a very cool lens.

  4. Now that is a cool toy! You have to let us know when and where we can see the finished film. I hope you weren't using that 1000mm underwater!

  5. Hehehe... that's the HJ18... it's 1000mm not 1000x. But it is a very cool lens.

Drew it's a 500 but has a doubler (2x) making it 1000...yes amazing zoom on it.

It will go to air in March...cannot say too much more about it till then.

We had two FX1's for underwater. One was in my Phenom while the other was in a custom built housing. In fact it was the the first housing in the world to get a FX1 underwater. :)

2 x HDCAMs, one for underwater and one for up top.

And while we are on the subject of the Phenom. For fun I put a Sony 0.85 wide angle on the FX1, took the flip arm out and put the macro dome port on. Works a treat but not quite as wide as the 94 degree Phenom port.
