Ikelite Tray and Arms

  1. Hey guys.

I was hoping you might have a couple of suggestions for me. I have the Ike tray, arms and a single DS-125 strobe. The unit is negative already and is putting strain on my elbow and I need some tips on how to loose some weight. Also to compound the problem I was considering adding another DS-125. I was either thinking of adding some home made floats or changing the Ike tray and arms for another brand.

Any advice would be appreciated and my Ike elbow thanks you in advance.

  2. You have several options... my preferred one would be to use ULCS tray and arm with, possibly, floating arm sections, depending on how negative is your rig underwater. You can also go for non floating arm sections and add Inon floats if needed, as they can be attached to regular ULCS sections of 8" and above.

  3. The Ike tray come with some space to add weight in the center of the tray, you can use this to place some foam or air bag. That help a little. Another option you have is to change the handles for ULCS ones, and get 2x 8" long / 2" wide, buoyancy arms.

  4. Thanks for asking this question, Spen.

I have the exact same set up as you and also get Ikelite-elbow.

  5. Quick cheap fix is to get one of those tube float things from Wall Mart etc. for 1.99 and slip some of it over the strobe arm. It crushes a bit under pressure but remains workable to 30m or so.
