I may be going next fall and I'd appreciate hearing too.
Where will you be staying?
St. Croix has awesome restaurants! TuTu Bene' is a great Italian place in downtown C'sted, Bacchus and Le St. Tropez are French, and Kendrick's. These are all world class and competetive with the best of NY.
Best Dives - North Star; Salt River West wall; Pavillions
Don't let anyone sucker you into diving right off Christiansted. Its the shortest boat ride for the shops in town, but the diving sucks. The sights that I've mentioned are mid island on the north shore wall. They are great.
Have you selected a dive operator yet? If not, I can probably hook you up with a 6pack Boston Whaler, captain and divemaster that'll dive where you want when you want!
Give me a call while your here (340) 773-9730 and I can show you some of the good shore dives - I own a boat but still dive 95% from shore!
Kasey
Thanks Kasey,
When my exchange through RCI comes through I'll get back to you. It's either St. Croix or the Turks & Caicos and I won't know until they tell me. Ted
Casey,
We are staying at Villa Dawn on Cane Bay, North shore. Cane Bay diving is supposed to be only a minute from the house. We have planned on shore diving mostly with maybe one or two mornings of boat dives. We will definitely pursue your recommendation on locations and resturants. Thanks so much!
Mike
How long will you be here?
Hey Kasey! Man, reading this makes me want to go back ASAP ![]()
Cmm, Villa Dawn is a great place, and indeed right at the best diving on St Croix.

Greetings,
I, along with 4 other divers, will be in St. Croix from 7/8 'til 7/18. I've already made reservations for 3 nights in Hotel Frederksted, and 7 nights at the Sugar Beach Condo. HAving never been there before, I hope I didn't make too big a mistake in those choices; it is difficult to know the best locations until after the first visit.
Any suggestions for shore ( boat) dives near either area would be greatly appreciated! We plan the dives mentioned above, and have already been warned about the dives near Christiansted. Thanks again for that as well as the restaurant recommendations. Any suggestions for dive operators?
No hurricanes, please.
Leon
Dive the Pier. It is one giant stride in (10 foot drop), bring a rope to lower you cameras! Well worth it for day and night diving. Lots of critters and seahorses in the debris around the pier.
There is shore diving there as well. I rented a car and drove around the island to dive different locations.
I personally feel St. Croix is a hidden gem for scuba. Many sites are quite nice. However, it has been over 10 years since I dove it.
