Subal mounting plate-Ideas needed??

5 posts
  1. I have an older subal housing (in mint shape)with no mounting plate for modeling light on top. Its got no flat spot like most subals already tapped but is fairly flat on top. Not really thick enough I feel to drill and tap-any ideas on a mounting plate and attachment?? Mark

  2. I'm not sure about Subal gear, but if you have handles like Sea and Sea with a flat top on each handle where the mounts for your strobe arms go then why not make a piece of metal that will fit between the two handles giving you a platform to fit anything you like.

I used expoxy20 steel-reinforced epoxy puddy to glue a mount to the top of my Canon housing ... worked GREAT. I dove with it everyday last week.

  4. Mark,

    See my PM to you

  5. Just replace one of your Subal handles with a ULCS TR-SC handle:

This will give you a third position to mount a strobe/focus light.
