Wrong D80 Housing?

4 posts
  1. Hi all ,

finally I bought a UW housing form my d80.

It is made from Nimar a small Italian factory nearby my city.

The problem is that : the command of the front wheel allows only a small change of speed/aperture, how you can see in the picture I attached it is made with a leverage instead of a knob.

Is there a way to set the d80 software that can permit a full range of change in speed/aperture with only one 360° of the command wheel?

Tomorrow I'll call the NIMAR factory asking for some explanations My worst problem is that I'll leave for maldives in 2 days:-)

My last hope will be to cut the leverage with dremel allowing full rotation of the leverage, I'll search for a more elegant solution after my return :-)

  2. Does the D80 have two command dials? If so can you swap their functions in the Menu? If so you can set up the camera so that the function you change most is on the back dial where you can turn it easier. The Subal D100 housing had this problem and the above solution worked quite well. I believe I programed it so that the back dial control aperture.

  3. Yeah, I think Dave has it. The other thing to try is to use auto ISO, I set mine to a range of 100-200 or so and it automatically adjusts the lighting for small amounts of changes. Works quite well, and on these cameras the difference in ISO quality is small.

yes I can , the problem is that even if I set speed on the front command , I can change the speed value only of a small range for example form /60 to /250 before the leverage hit the body of the housing.

Thank you , I already do it , I work mainly in Manual , so I must have full control on speed and aperture.
