  1. I'm looking for info on tubbataha, phillipines. best time to go ,type of diving, any other resorts in that area to combine with a trip thanks

  2. Tubbataha is done in Mar-June. May is considered the best time.

As for the expedition fleet, which is formerly the explorer fleet, Google the Island Explorer on Apo reef for the company's history of 'safe' operation.

There are other boats doing the area as well. Just be aware they are less than luxurious than the Indonesian liveaboards.

  3. LOL Drew, forgot about that one. Yeah they need to work on their navigational skills... well at least they literally took the divers to the reef...

  4. I just got back from the PI and was talking to the owners of the Palau Sport. I do have their new 08 schedule with me too. PM me if you want more details.

I was at Tubbataha when the Explorer boat ran aground. Also learned that the season before their captain grounded the boat in Puerto Princessa harbor!

Puerto Galera is a great place for macro, a fair number of folks here on Wetpixel have been there.

  7. If you want to stick to Palawan, try Coron for wrecks. I prefer Anilao to PG for macro since it throws in black volcanic sand for more critters.PG does have a better nightlife, and I'm not talking about scuba anymore :)

  8. thanks guys Ill check those places out

Anyone have recommendations for resorts/dive operators in Coron, or anywhere in Northern Palawan, such as El Nido or Taytay? Have searched the net and don't seem to find much.

    Thanks !
