    Jeremy,

I'm far from an expert but I'll give you my two cents. I went to your site Sunday Jan 27 1:10 mountain time. It opened fine, I was a little put off by the first page being "BUY MY STUFF" after looking I'm not sure what that is all about. I was expecting underwater images. The images I did locate took quite a long time to load in your viewer, (averaged 20 sec. per shot). If I'm just surfing around and find a site that takes that long I usually skip it and go find somewhere else to play. Not sure what the issue is, big files? There are a couple of other nits, since you asked. The very nice header image would look better if it went all the way across the page. The "handle" for the slider on the left side is not much different than the page color and hard to find. I almost bailed out thinking you only had 4 images up. I'll leave it to the experts to comment on your images. I commend you on the work you've done so far. I know how hard it is to come up the learning curve to build a website. Hoped this helped. Keep at it!

    Steve

It takes even longer to load than WP :D:lol:

Kinda takes my interest away...which is a shame, cause you have interesting pics on Flickr

    Best regards,

As others noted a couple of issues. You may be better off moving some of the things, like the amazon information, off the initial page which should help load it quicker (some of the calls to feed the page seemed to delay it) and also will clean the look of the site up a bit.

Thanks for all the feedback! I wasn't really sure where all this was going ... but I decided to try and "blog" my recent trip to Antigua in January, which got me interested in keeping it going when I got home. I found the blogging software on Wetpixel clunky, so at first I tried building my own from scratch and hosted it on my own webserver at home, but in the end I decided to move it to Blogger over this past weekend.

Steve - On Sunday, you caught me just as I was putting it together on Blogger and trying out different things. In the end, I decided to take the Amazon store thing off all together, although I do have contextual links and an amazon ad on the left side ... I figured I might be able to start writing some stuff off if I'm in the business of selling and reviewing camera equipment. :-)

In the end, it has become much more than just a place to highlight my photographs ... it has become more of a general "web presence" for me.

Please try again and let me know what you think of the new version. Work in progess ...

    Thanks!

Also, I realized I had an instance of BitTorrent running that was hogging all my upstream bandwidth. I had restarted the machine and apparently BitTorrent was set to start on a restart and I was seeding like 35 live Grateful Dead concerts (legally, of course) to people all over the planet.

Hopefully, with that turned off and staying off, the photogalleries should load MUCH quicker.

If you visit the site again, please click on the photo galleries linked on the upper left side of the home page and let me know if they serve up quick enough.

    Thanks again!

  6. Jeremy,

That's much better! When you click on "home" it reverts to the page with click here for Jeremys website page. Other than that little glitch it works fine. 10 times faster load.

    Steve :)

I added a little video to my website.

Please try and play the video and tell me what happens ...

    Thanks!
