  1. A whale shark has visited Brisbane, Australia. A rare occurence.

  2. Great... so get in first Darren and get your Whale Shark interaction license and start some tours :)

Looks like they got a pic of it too, should send it to Brads site to see if there is a match.

  3. Finally get a whale shark at my faviourite dive site at home and I am stuck working in India!!

Darren, hope it hangs around for you to get some images.

    Regards

    Nigel

PS should add that this is not as unusual as the report sounds. In the last few years know divers that have seen a whale shark off Noosa, at Easter time two years in a row, and off Tweed Heads. Also Ben Cropp got some of the first ever underwater footage of a whale shark off the Gold Coast, which was shown around the world in the 1960s.

Could you imagine running a whale shark ops from a town with a population of 1.8 million ...it would be harder to get on a boat than it is in Exmouth (population 2400, swelling to 6000 in tourist season, 1200Km from the nearest city)

    that's a plan
  5. Sounds like it was only round for a little while too. Still, has every diver in the area wishing they'd been out there over the long weekend!

Did see a sunfish at the same spot a few years ago, count myself pretty lucky for that (although no photos).
