This one was also taken last Novemeber in Egypt with a S40 in a WP-DC300 Housing with internal flash only.

It was shot as JPEG
In PS I did
cropping
level corrections
brightness/contrast correction
unsharp mask

This is not as good as your first one.
Th fish are blown out, which is tough not to do with a shiny white backed fish. When your shooting subjscts that are shiny silver or white with a flash, you need to compensate for the reflectivity of the subject. Also the fish are swimming away for the most part, which is something you want to avoid. Always try to get the eye. The one fish that is swimming towards us looks like it is suffering from motion blur or dof problems.
The colors you captured in the coral were great! Makes me wish the coral head was filling the frame.
The left side of the image is distracting.....dull aqua and nothing of real interest. Would have ben great if you could have swung around to the left and shot the coral and fish head on. That may be personal opinion Simon, as I am not a fan of the aqua/rocks background.
Finally, both of the images I saw that you posted were shot looking down on the subject. You should try to shoot up or at least level whenver you can, your images will improve 10x with that step alone.
Keep shooting! and don't be afraid to heavily crop images, assuming you have the resolution to do it.
Cheers!
Thank Bob for your critique,
this pictures was relative early ones. The pics from this spring are already better - thanks to a lot of tips from here, more experience, better dive skills (never to be underestimated especially from a naturist point of view), a Ds125 and RAW-Format. I'll post more images from last November and after that from this spring in the next days. I would love to get more critiques from you.
Bye
Simon
