I put together a small gallery of some of my favorite images from my trip last week. I have included a few more shots with the 2xtc + 105 macro. In retrospect I wish I had worked on that combo a little more. Although the keeper rate was small the results can be dramatic. I think I will invest in a better TC for my next trip.

That may be the best set of images I've seen put up on Wetpixel in a long time. Congratulation LarryI think I will invest in a better TC for my next trip.
I'm headed to Bonaire this spring and have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I'm curious which TC your using now and which you think is better. I'd also like to know if you have a favorite "don't miss" dive site there. Thanks for sharing.Steve

Thanks Steve,
I used a real old Vivitar TC. It's just an AI design (no intelligence or autofocus capability.) I would have liked to get one of the new Kenko Pro models but I bought the Aquatica AquaViewer instead and that tapped me out.
The most productive site, which was kind of unexpected, was Petrie's Pillar. I ended up diving it three times. On one dive I had 3 turtles, 2 froggies, 2 seahorses and lots of the regular stuff. Good luck.

Amazing!

Being very new on this can't say they are the best in a while but can say they are Brilliant shots.
From what I understand of all this jargon you took these using manual focus rather than letting the camera do the work correct?

Hey Ralph, very nice thanks for sharing these. The work with the 2x is great.
BTW Everyone should do themselves a favour and also check out the Fiji Gallery on Ralph's site if you haven't already.
Congrats.

I used both manual and autofocus depending on the situation. For the extreme macro stuff I had no way to change focus, either manually or automatically. Like in the old days shooting with a Nikonos and extension tube, only harder.

Excellent set, Larry! Loved the little goby, and the land shots, the iguana. The coral shot looks positively fluorescent!
I use a Tamron 2x, which is the same as the Kenko, and it works well.

Beautiful gallery.
The 2nd and 6th shots are my favourites.
p.s. Is it Ralph or Larry???

On his website it looks like its both... maybe one of him does the topside stuff, the other of him does the submerged stuff.

Larry, those are beautiful - very inspiring. Your topsides are definitely a notch above the norm around here too.

Just beautiful shots! I am sharing with our photography club here in Thailand.
Thanks!!

We are heading back in May. Lots of subjects hopefully enough time this trip around.

Hi Todd,
I hope you're going for more than a week. There are so many options on Bonaire that after a week I felt I was just beginning to scratch the surface

I do a lot more topside than U/W these days but I think it also carries over to my underwater work.
Good shooting, enjoy your trip.

Two weeks this time. I know what you mean. We barely scratched the surface with one week of diving. Lots of opportunities above and below the surface. And the restaurants are not too bad either.
Cheers
Todd
