Mac Store Down ...New MacBook Pro? - Nope

I keep hearing Feb 26th as a rumoured announce event of some type. We are definitely due some Penryn Macbook Pros!

I just ordered a new Mac Pro, so it'll be a while before I replace my Macbook Pro.. However, always love following the rumours .

I am about to buy the Mac Pro, did you go for the 8800 video card? So far I cannot find anything solid reviews. I know it specs out real well.

I think the 26th is the iPhone SDK(?) I know the MacBook Pro is right around the corner, so figured when the store went down..but of course it is not a Tuesday

BTW I actually got a chance to play a bit with the Mac Air today. Regardless of whether it is a powerhouse or not, very cool. Makes the MacBook (not the MacBook Pro) seem like a lead weight. Also played with the new features in iPod Touch.

My shopping list is now big, but Mac Pro is up next, probably in the AM

Yes, I went for the 8800, which is why I'm still waiting (ship date approx Feb 20-26th, it says). I think everyone is waiting, so we'll probably see reviews showing up in a couple weeks.

I'm guessing you're right and the SDK will be the big unveiling. If they are only going to rev the Macbook Pro with new processors, they might just slip it in, as they did the Mac Pro. So your clue about the store being down is a very apt one. Maybe next time!

I am thinking of doing the same thing, though things have creeped up where I can use the power a bit sooner and grab the card later on if I do not do it now But for Motion, Aperture and other things Apple may send the video card way the 8800 seems to have alot of processing power and the way to go.

Maybe I will just buy an iPod touch to tide me over for a few days

I will take snapshots when I pull the trigger and send them on All of a sudden I now also want a 30" Monitor, but will hold off

I will either have it tomorrow or in 3 weeks. Just figuring out the video card now. Need some more horsepower and a 3 week jump will help.

I want that real skinny laptop. Damn Apple. I just bought a laptop in Nov. Think I could trade it in for that skinny one?

BTW, Drew, my Mac Pro shipped on Tuesday (s/b delivered tomorrow), so those Nvidia cards have started coming in.

I hope you didn't order an iTouch the day before they dropped the prices! (or at least got a credit if you did..)

Thanks for the info. Nope no iTouch coming, but the Mac Pro is being built now with the video card. Have the RAM for it (adding another 8 Gigs) and hard drives waiting Should be another week or so. Maybe quicker if the cards have started coming it.
