Camera/Flash Gear Bag - recommendation?

8 posts
  1. Finally bought my first DSLR - Oly E-410, Ikelite Housing, ULCS arms, dual Ikelite D125 flashes. Can anyone recommend a carry bag for brining on board and off ... etc.?? Thanks!

  2. I'm a big believer in a soft-sided cooler bag. Get a good sized one that doesn't have a plastic insert. They are padded, have small outside pockets, will fold flat and also double as a rinse tank.

Biggest benefit is that they don't look like a camera bag.

  3. I like the Scierra bags. Very durable as they are designed as tackle bags. The XL accomodates an assembled dual strobe system easily and I use it as a carry on bag too. http://www.scierra.com/?product=238

Thanks Jack ... where's a decent place to locate one?

Thanks all....found what appear to fit what i need @ www.polarbearcoolers.com (the 48-pack), size right, priced good and can be used as a rinse container when done with the dive!!

    GD

  6. Just don't overpack that one! Looks too big to be an airline carryon (US rules are combined length + width + height of 45", and that tops out at 47" if I did the math right).

I've been looking at these guys (for airline travel, not necessarily good for taking on a boat), but I'm not sure if 6.5" depth is enough for an Ike housing (maybe with the back removed?) and VERY not sure I think a bag is worth almost $300!!

Almost any sporting goods store. Also Target, Wall-mart, etc. I bought a Columbia one at a local Fred Meyer. Very sturdy, has an aluminized top even. About $23.

  8. I use a combo of thinktankphoto.com stuff, urban disguse for everyday use, combined with the airport international (roller bag) for trips. The security would be ideal if all airlines would let you carry it on.
